Hack for Social Impact (HSI) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that connects mission-driven organizations with technical talents to build real solutions to local and global challenges. Through our hackathons, engineers, founders, designers, and researchers collaborate with nonprofits, NGOs and social enterprises to develop deployable technology addressing issues like climate resilience, housing access, legal aid, and journalistic transparency.
Our mission is to leverage technology for social impact by creating a space for building new technologies that benefit mission-driven organizations and the causes they serve. Our hope is that when tech professionals start their next company, they look at the other possibilities beyond what dominates the current market.
About the EventAfter two successful years in the Bay Area, Hack for Social Impact is expanding to the Pacific Northwest in 2026 in partnership with WIT Regatta, AI House Seattle, and Ada Developers Academy.
